NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 89 is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with a medium-early maturity period and a vegetation period of 72-95 days. The plant is medium-height with a semi-erect stem and a pyramidal ear of medium density. The grain is colored, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 32 to 41 grams. The variety is characterized by resistance to lodging, shattering, and root sprouting, which ensures yield preservation and high grain quality during harvest.

NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 89 is recommended for cultivation in the Novosibirsk Region, Altai Krai, and the northern forest-steppe of the Novosibirsk Region. The variety is moderately resistant to drought and moderately susceptible to brown rust and septoria, as well as powdery mildew. At the same time, it is susceptible to root rots and smut. The average yield in the region is about 32.1 centners per hectare, which exceeds average indicators and ensures a stable high yield. The maximum yield recorded in the Novosibirsk Region reached 58.3 c/ha.

A feature of the variety is the high protein content in the grain - up to 20%, and gluten - up to 40%, which ensures good baking qualities. The variety belongs to the lutescens group and was bred by individual selection from hybrid populations. Thanks to its technological characteristics and resistance to adverse factors, NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 89 is a valuable wheat for regions of Western and Eastern Siberia.
