Description Mihelca
Wheat variety Mihelca is characterized by very intense tillering in spring and belongs to the mid-season group. This variety has high yield potential and resistance to many diseases and stress factors, making it especially suitable for cultivation in the Polissia region. Important agronomic indicators include protein content at 13.5–14.0% and thousand-grain weight within 39–43 grams. The recommended sowing rate under early conditions is 4.0 to 5.0 million germinating seeds per hectare.

Mihelca is available in two main uses. Whole-grain wheat retains all components of the grain in their natural form, making it a valuable product for sprouting and preparing healthy cereals and vegetarian dishes. Sprouted wheat grains improve nutritional value by converting proteins and fats into beneficial fatty acids and increasing fiber content, which is recommended for proper nutrition.

Additionally, Mihelca wheat is widely used in animal husbandry as a forage crop for producing compound feed. It contains a high level of protein (11–15%), B and E vitamins, lysine, and phosphorus, ensuring its nutritional value for animals. The moisture content of quality forage wheat should not exceed 15%. However, this type of wheat is not intended for human consumption and is used exclusively as animal feed.
