GOVERNOR DUNA

GOVERNOR DUNA is a variety of soft winter wheat, distinguished by its medium-early maturity period and high yield. The plants are short-statured, with a height ranging from 65 to 94 cm, forming a dense, semi-erect stand and exhibiting high resistance to lodging. The ear is cylindrical, measuring 7-8.5 cm in length with a density of 21-22 spikelets per 10 cm of rachis; the grain is red, egg-shaped, and of medium size. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 36 to 52 grams, indicating the high quality of the seed material. The vegetative period ranges from 235 to 296 days, allowing the variety to successfully adapt to various climatic conditions.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to abiotic stresses, including drought, spring frosts, and prolonged freezing of the soil surface. In terms of drought resistance, it surpasses many standards, achieving a score of 5 under conditions of the Rostov region. The winter hardiness of the variety is above average, ensuring reliable overwintering in growing regions. Additionally, GOVERNOR DUNA has enhanced resistance to biotic factors such as septoria, snow mold, viral diseases, and root rots, which contributes to stable yield formation.

The potential yield of the variety is high — in various regions it reaches from 41.9 to 54 c/ha, with maximum figures exceeding 9.5 t/ha. The grain of the variety is distinguished by its high protein content (up to 14.6%) and gluten (around 33%), making it valuable for the food industry and flour production. GOVERNOR DUNA is recommended for intensive cultivation technologies in the North Caucasus and Central Black Earth regions, as well as in the Stavropol Territory, Rostov and Belgorod regions, where it demonstrates stable productivity and adaptability.
