Winter wheat Generous Yield

Resilient winter wheat for challenging environments

Developed by the Bila Tserkva Research and Breeding Station, the 'Shchedra Nyva' variety is a soft winter wheat designed for farmers who prioritize consistent performance over high-maintenance intensive inputs. Unlike modern hybrid varieties that often demand near-perfect growing conditions to yield, this Ukrainian-bred variety is defined by its plasticity and ability to endure fluctuating field conditions.

Field performance and disease resistance

The core strength of 'Shchedra Nyva' lies in its robust biological defense system. For farmers looking to reduce the frequency of fungicide applications, this variety offers a significant advantage. It has demonstrated strong resistance to a spectrum of pathogens that typically plague Ukrainian fields during humid periods:

• Root rots;
• Brown leaf rust;
• Septoria;
• Fusarium head blight;
• Powdery mildew.

By effectively suppressing these threats, the variety helps protect yield potential and grain quality, reducing the cost of chemical protection throughout the growing season. Its ability to maintain health under stress makes it a reliable asset for both conventional and resource-saving farming technologies.

Is it the right choice for your farm?

This variety is the best fit for agricultural enterprises seeking a balance between operational costs and a stable harvest. It is a 'workhorse' variety that performs best when sowing windows are strictly observed. While it is adaptable to various soil types, its greatest value lies in its high immunity profile. For producers aiming for a predictable outcome with lower risk exposure to fungal infections, 'Shchedra Nyva' is an excellent addition to any rotation strategy.
