Wheat Epitet

Selection for Consistent Results

The "Epytet" variety, developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (PBGI), represents a key advancement in domestic soft winter wheat breeding. This variety was engineered for agricultural environments where success relies on a balance between yield potential and resilience against the climatic fluctuations of Ukraine's steppe and forest-steppe zones.

Agronomic Profile and Potential

The main advantage of "Epytet" lies in its well-calibrated biological properties. With a growing season of 90-100 days, the variety demonstrates high developmental intensity, allowing it to efficiently utilize spring and summer moisture. Despite its winter wheat classification, the variety shows reliable winter hardiness (rated at 7 points), confirming its stability during overwintering in unpredictable conditions.

• Type: Soft winter wheat.
• Yield Potential: 8–9 tons per hectare under proper management.
• Lodging Resistance: High, which simplifies harvesting and minimizes grain loss.

Market Positioning

"Epytet" occupies a niche as a reliable tool for commercial farms focused on producing high-quality grain. Thanks to its developer—the reputable PBGI—farmers receive seed material that is genetically adapted to local soil and climatic realities. It is a choice for those prioritizing harvest predictability without excessive dependence on extreme agrotechnological inputs.
