Wheat BURAN 88

Genetic Architecture of "Buran 88"

The winter soft wheat variety "Buran 88," developed at the P.P. Lukyanenko National Grain Center, is a product of a breeding strategy focused on intensive agriculture. The core feature of this variety is the combination of high yield potential and adaptability to the challenging climate conditions of southern regions.

Agronomic Metrics and Protection

Technically, the variety is optimized for intensive cultivation technologies that require strict adherence to plant protection protocols. To achieve the stated productivity levels, it is mandatory to follow the pesticide application window: the final treatment of the crops must be carried out 7–14 days before the start of harvest. This interval ensures compliance with waiting periods and guarantees the safety of the final grain product.

• Biological Potential: The variety exhibits lodging resistance due to its specific stem anatomy, which is critical when applying intensive nitrogen fertilizers.
• Response to Soil Fertility: Maximum performance regarding the weight of 1000 kernels is observed when crop rotation and optimal sowing dates are maintained.
• Phytosanitary Control: High responsiveness to fungicide protection is driven by genetic immunity; however, the variety requires monitoring during epiphytotic outbreaks.

The engineering approach to cultivating "Buran 88" involves balancing intensive fertilization and protection, making it a predictable tool for agronomists aimed at securing stable gluten quality and high commercial appearance of the crop.
