Wheat Arena

Stable yields under high phytosanitary pressure

The "Arena" soft winter wheat variety, developed by the P.P. Lukyanenko National Grain Center, is an optimal choice for farms focused on intensive cultivation technologies with a strong emphasis on phytosanitary reliability. With a plant height of 90–100 cm, the variety demonstrates excellent lodging resistance, a critical factor for achieving a potential yield of 7–10 tons per hectare.

A robust phytopathological shield

The main competitive advantage of this variety lies in its complex disease resistance. Unlike many alternatives, "Arena" effectively curtails the development of a wide spectrum of pathogens:

• Full tolerance to yellow rust and septoria.
• High resistance to mycosphaerella leaf spot, onion stem smut, powdery mildew, and fusarium.

Such genetic defense allows agronomists to reduce the number of fungicide applications while maintaining productivity potential. A productive stem density in the range of 4.0–5.0 million units per hectare ensures optimal stand density for realizing the variety's genetic maximum.

Who is this wheat for?

"Arena" is most effective on highly fertile soils when crop rotation practices are followed. It is a powerful tool for farmers who are unwilling to compromise between high yields and the risk of grain quality loss due to diseases. Despite its outstanding performance, the variety requires strict adherence to sowing dates, as its full biological potential is realized only through proper autumn development.
