Wheat of the «Aleyskaya» variety is spring hard wheat bred by Russian breeders of the Federal Altai Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology. This variety is medium-to-late maturing, with a vegetative period of 79 to 90 days. The plants are medium-height with a cylindrical ear of medium density and strongly colored white grain. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 40 to 48 grams, while the grain natural weight reaches up to 785 g/l. Yield of the variety in various regions averages from 21.9 to 26.2 c/ha, indicating its high productivity.
The «Aleyskaya» variety has good resistance to lodging and drought, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Altai Krai and West Siberian regions. However, it is susceptible to a number of diseases, including powdery bunt, brown rust, powdery mildew, root rots, and septoria. Despite this, the milling and baking qualities of the grain meet standards, and the crude protein content reaches 18.0%, ensuring high-quality products.
A distinctive feature of the variety is its suitability for producing pasta, where grain quality is rated from satisfactory to good. A medium-density ear with a short awn and elongated grain promotes the formation of high-quality raw material. Thanks to balanced agronomic characteristics and high technological indicators, wheat «Aleyskaya» is a promising variety for agricultural production in regions with similar climatic conditions.
