Akvitan

The winter wheat variety Akvitan is characterized by high yield and excellent baking properties. The grain of this variety belongs to quality class 1-2, with protein content around 16-17% and 1000-grain weight within 32-37 grams. Plants reach a height of approximately 66 cm, due to a short-stemmed bush form with a waxy coating on the middle and upper parts of the stem. The ear is cylindrical in shape, of medium density, covered with short awns, and the kernels are tightly held in the cells, minimizing losses during threshing.

Akvitan exhibits high resistance to lodging thanks to its strong, short stems and semi-erect bush type. The variety shows high initial growth energy at the beginning of the vegetation period, promoting even and high-quality crop development. Maturation occurs in mid-late periods, and the variety is well-adapted to various soil-climate conditions, including the Polissia and forest-steppe zones.

A special advantage of the Akvitan variety is its high resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases, including powdery mildew, leaf septoria, yellow rust, and fusarium, as well as to pests. Thanks to this, the variety maintains stable yield and grain quality even under adverse weather conditions, including cold spells and drought. The recommended seeding rate is 370-500 seeds per square meter, with a spikelet count of 500-650 per square meter, confirming its high yield potential.
