Description ORLOVSKAYA FEYA
Cherry of the Orlovskaya Feiya variety is a medium-sized tree with a pyramidal, spreading, and moderately dense crown, reaching a height of about 3.5 meters. Leaves are green with a large-toothed edge, while large white, saucer-shaped flowers ensure the plant's attractiveness during the blooming period. The tree is resistant to cockle, but is self-sterile and requires the presence of pollinators, such as the Bryanskaya Rozovaya and Iput varieties, for successful fruiting. Orlovskaya Feiya cherry fruits have an oval shape and an almost black color with a dense skin that effectively protects the juicy dark-red pulp from mechanical damage. The average weight of one fruit is about 4.3 grams, and a medium-sized pit separates easily from the pulp. The fruits have a sweet-and-sour taste, are of dessert purpose, which makes them attractive to consumers. Fruits ripen simultaneously in early terms, starting from the sixth year after planting, and withstand transportation well, which contributes to their commercial use. The variety is characterized by high yield — about 72 centners per hectare, which makes it profitable for agricultural production. Despite low frost resistance down to -30°C, Orlovskaya Feiya is recommended for growing in the Oryol region and is suitable for the central region under the condition of good winter preparation. Thanks to its agronomic qualities, disease resistance, and excellent taste characteristics, this cherry variety is a promising choice for gardeners and farmers of the Central region.
