Aromatic

Aromatic — an early-ripening technical (wine) grape variety developed by Ukrainian breeders and included in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2009. The vines have medium to strong growth vigor, good shoot lignification, and high winter hardiness, tolerating temperatures down to -23—25 °C. The flower is hermaphroditic, promoting good fruiting, with yields reaching 140–160 centners per hectare. Bunches are cylindrical-conical in shape, medium to large in size, weighing from 200 to 278 g, medium density, with wings. Berries are medium to large, oval or round, pale rose or rose-colored, with crisp flesh and a delicate muscat aroma, and the taste features notes of pineapple.

The variety exhibits high resistance to major fungal diseases, simplifying care and reducing the need for frequent treatments, although some sources note the necessity of a comprehensive protective regimen. It has high frost tolerance, enabling cultivation in regions with challenging climates. The sugar content of the berry juice ranges from 18.0 to 19.3 g/100 cm³, acidity from 5.1 to 6.5 g/dm³, ensuring a balanced flavor and high-quality raw material for winemaking.

Aromatic is recommended for the production of white table and dessert wines, as well as for juice production. Wines from this variety receive high tasting scores, reaching 7.85 points, and successfully participate in competitions, distinguished by their unique flavor. Additionally, the grape is suitable for fresh consumption due to its good transportability and attractive appearance of the berries.
