PATRIOT is a medium-maturing variety of vegetable peas, distinguished by high yield and excellent taste qualities. The first harvest can be conducted 60 days after mass germination. The plant is medium-sized, reaching a height of about 79 cm, with short internodes and a green leaf with a grayish tint and a waxy coating. Flowers are white, and on each node, two weakly curved pods with pointed tops are formed.
Pods of dark green color, up to 12 cm long and about 1.1 cm wide, are arranged in pairs on the pedicel; on average, 9 to 11 pods are formed on one plant. Each pod contains 9 to 11 large, irregularly shaped grains that possess characteristic sweetness and excellent taste. The average weight of one pod is about 9 grams, while the weight of 100 pods reaches 620 grams.
The PATRIOT variety is universal in application: grains can be consumed fresh, used in vegetable salads, added to soups and side dishes. Moreover, peas are suitable for freezing, drying, and canning, which makes them convenient for long-term storage and processing. Due to high yield and quality characteristics, the variety is recommended for both personal consumption and industrial processing.
