Tulip Zeelandia

Market Positioning and Origin

The 'Zeelandia' tulip stands as a classic representative of the Triumph class, a testament to Dutch breeding excellence. It has carved out a distinct market niche by offering gardeners and commercial growers a reliable, late-blooming solution that manages to combine rare, sophisticated aesthetics with rigorous field performance.

Disease Resistance Profile

Unlike many delicate varieties, 'Zeelandia' is engineered for longevity. It is widely recognized for its robust genetic resistance to several devastating conditions that typically impact bulbous crops:

• Vascular wilts: Superior resistance to both Fusarium and Verticillium wilt.
• Viral resilience: Highly resistant to Tobacco Mosaic Virus, ensuring the foliage remains clean and structurally sound.
• Fungal blight: Exceptional tolerance to Cladosporium, allowing for success even in high-humidity climates.

Aesthetic and Cultivation Specs

The hallmark of 'Zeelandia' is its striking brown-toned petals, which bring an air of exclusivity to any floral display. As a late-blooming variety, it effectively extends the gardening season after earlier cultivars have faded. With its medium height and structurally firm stems, it requires minimal staking, making it an excellent candidate for both manicured formal borders and mass-market cut flower production. Its ability to maintain its form and color profile makes it a staple for designers looking for a bold, reliable color accent.
