Tulip Zorro

The Triumph Standard: Zorro Tulips

The 'Zorro' tulip has earned its reputation as a benchmark in professional floriculture, specifically within the Triumph class. Known for its distinct goblet-shaped bloom and structural integrity, it remains a preferred choice for growers seeking a balance between aesthetic appeal and agricultural reliability.

Agronomic Strengths and Resistance

The commercial viability of 'Zorro' is heavily influenced by its robust health profile. Unlike more sensitive varieties, this cultivar demonstrates high resistance to common pathogens that typically compromise bulb crops during forcing cycles:

• High tolerance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus.
• Proven resistance to Fusarium and Cladosporium.

These features minimize the need for heavy fungicide application, allowing for a more streamlined production process. With its medium height and sturdy stems, 'Zorro' offers superior handling and transport stability, ensuring the product reaches the market in peak condition.

Market Position and Application

As a mid-season flowering variety, 'Zorro' serves as a strategic asset for producers managing high-volume supply chains. The deep, vibrant red of its petals creates significant 'shelf appeal,' making it a top performer during peak spring holiday sales. Whether for small-scale operations or large greenhouse production, 'Zorro' provides the consistency needed to maintain a high-quality cut flower inventory.
