Tulip Oriental Beauty

Genetic Profile and Morphology

The Oriental Beauty tulip serves as a benchmark for the Tulipa greigii class. Technically, this cultivar is engineered for low-growing landscape applications; its compact stem combined with a robust root system ensures high resistance to wind stress, making it a reliable choice for exposed planting sites. The hybrid features a mid-season bloom, effectively bridging the transition between early-flowering bulbs and late-season varieties.

Visual and Functional Features

• Color Architecture: The petals boast a rich red pigment with high UV stability, ensuring color intensity and market appeal throughout the entire flowering cycle.
• Foliage: True to its Greigii heritage, the leaves exhibit characteristic anthocyanin patterns (stripes or mottled markings), providing aesthetic value even during the budding stage.
• Bloom Geometry: A classic cup-shaped structure with wide opening upon full exposure to light, serving as a signature trait of the cultivar.

From an agrotechnical standpoint, this hybrid is optimized for border compositions and rock gardens. Its low center of gravity eliminates the need for staking, ensuring the plant maintains a vertical posture even during heavy precipitation.
