Tulip Martine Bijl

Technical profile of the Martine Bijl tulip

The Martine Bijl tulip, belonging to the Triumph class, represents a sophisticated selection outcome focused on combining structural rigidity with a classic goblet shape. This hybrid is engineered for consistency under moderate climate conditions, serving as a reliable asset for both commercial forcing and landscape professional projects.

Botanical architecture and performance metrics

• Structural integrity: The Triumph classification guarantees a robust, upright stem capable of supporting heavy blooms under adverse wind conditions. The medium height prevents lodging, ensuring optimal crop uniformity.
• Flowering dynamics: Mid-season bloom timing allows for precise scheduling of harvesting, facilitating high-efficiency production cycles.
• Pigmentation: The deep red pigment is characterized by high UV-resistance, preventing petal fading during extended periods of direct sunlight exposure.

From an agrotechnical perspective, Martine Bijl requires strict adherence to temperature protocols during bulb storage to ensure optimal vernalization. The high density of the petal tissue ensures excellent transportability, reducing post-harvest losses. The plant's vascular system is optimized for efficient water uptake, significantly extending vase life when provided with proper post-harvest care.
