Tulip Madame De la Mar

Elegance in Miniature

The «Madame de la Mar» tulip is a rare representative of the Triumph class that defies the conventional height expectations of its counterparts. While most Triumph tulips strive for towering heights, this cultivar remains compact, making it a strategic choice for landscape designers and owners of smaller garden plots.

Why it stands out among Triumphs

• Compact Habit: Its low-growing nature allows for planting in the foreground of flower beds, containers, and balcony boxes without the risk of the plant being toppled by wind.
• Late-Season Bloom: Unlike early varieties, this tulip closes the spring season, maintaining garden aesthetics when other bulbs have already gone dormant.
• Color Purity: The pink hue of the petals possesses the distinct density characteristic of the Triumph class, giving the flower a refined, porcelain-like texture.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The core strength of this variety lies in its stability. Like all Triumph class representatives, it features a sturdy stem and an excellent ability to hold the shape of the bud even after it has fully opened. However, its short stature may be a drawback for those seeking material for large-scale bouquets in tall vases. This tulip is designed for close-up appreciation; it demands visual proximity in border plantings or rock gardens.

It is ideal for those who value tidiness and graphic precision in their flower beds. «Madame de la Mar» does not aspire to be an oversized centerpiece, but rather excels at filling spaces, creating a soft pink carpet where other, bulkier varieties might look out of place.
