Tulip Macarena

Elegance and Resilience of Lily-Flowered Tulips

The 'Macarena' tulip is a striking representative of the lily-flowered group, distinguished by its architectural silhouette. Its pointed, reflexed petals create a dynamic form reminiscent of an exotic lily. Unlike classic cup-shaped tulips, this variety displays a unique grace, becoming a true focal point in any spring landscape.

Color Palette and Habit

The visual profile of 'Macarena' is built on contrast and purity: the interplay between creamy white and deep yellow creates an internal glow effect. Its tall stem provides a perfect vertical line, making it ideal for both monochromatic plantings and multi-level flower beds. Its mid-season bloom time allows it to fit seamlessly into the transition period between early and late varieties.

The Agricultural Shield

The primary competitive advantage of this hybrid is its genetic resistance. In conditions of fluctuating weather and high humidity, it shows impressive resilience to common bulbous diseases:

• Full immunity to Fusarium wilt;
• High resistance to Verticillium wilt;
• Robust defense against Cladosporium;
• Low susceptibility to Tomato mosaic virus.

This makes 'Macarena' an excellent choice for those seeking a balance between aesthetics and low-maintenance care. The variety is forgiving of many horticultural errors that would prove fatal for other tulip types.

Who is this variety for?

'Macarena' is the choice for professional floriculturists and landscape designers who value both visual impact and predictable outcomes. Thanks to its inherent vigor, the variety requires minimal chemical intervention, reducing the overall cost of maintenance. However, it is worth noting that, like all lily-flowered tulips, 'Macarena' requires protection from strong winds to keep its delicate, elegant petals in pristine condition.
