Rose KORCAT 0497

An Engineering Approach to Hybrid Tea Rose Breeding

The «KORKAT 0497» model from the renowned German nursery W. Kordessohne Rosenschulen & Kg is the result of long-term work by the AGT breeding consortium and the Kordes dynasty. This hybrid is built upon a concept of a compact architectural solution for landscape design, prioritizing form stability and visual petal density.

Technical Bush Structure Specification

The key feature of this variety is its bush habit, constrained within 60–80 cm. This height allows the plant to serve as a mid-tier element in bedding compositions without obstructing neighboring plantings, maintaining overall design integrity. Unlike taller shrub varieties, this hybrid tea rose focuses on vertical shoot growth, ensuring resistance to lodging even in open-field conditions.

Flower Morphology and Blooming Physiology

The technical design of the bud is based on a double-flower morphology. The dense arrangement of petals ensures the flower’s longevity: it retains its structure under adverse weather conditions better than semi-double alternatives. The pink coloration is standardized according to the originator’s color scale, guaranteeing consistency in mass plantings. The absence of fragrance in this model is a deliberate breeding decision aimed at reducing attractiveness to insect pests, which simplifies maintenance in both commercial and decorative settings.

• Structural Type: Hybrid tea rose with defined growth parameters.
• Climatic Adaptability: German breeding ensures high durability in temperate latitudes.
• Application: Optimized for creating dense decorative massifs and bedding arrangements.
