Tulip Lamoraal van Egmond

Genetic Profile and Resilience

The Lamoraal van Egmond tulip is a distinctive representative of the Fosteriana class. Its development focuses on balancing early-season flowering with robust phytosanitary traits. The plant’s low-profile morphology is a technical engineering choice, providing superior resistance to structural damage from wind while concentrating metabolic energy into bloom development.

Disease Resistance and Phytosanitary Data

The core value of Lamoraal van Egmond lies in its inherent biological defense systems. Unlike sensitive commercial cultivars, this variety provides reliable protection against the following agronomic threats:

• Fungal Pathogens: Demonstrates significant tolerance to Alternaria leaf spot, Phytophthora, and scab.
• Soil-Borne Issues: High resistance to black leg, ensuring bulb integrity in variable moisture conditions.
• Nematode Resistance: Specifically bred to resist the golden potato nematode, reducing the biological load on the planting site.

Morphology and Flowering Mechanics

The variety features a compact, low-growing habit that ensures stability throughout the early spring. The petals present a sophisticated color blend of red and purple, reflecting high-quality tissue development. From a practical standpoint, this tulip is optimized for low-maintenance requirements, as its internal resistance profile minimizes the need for heavy chemical intervention, making it a highly efficient biological unit for early landscape applications.
