Tulip Lardinois

Stability and Color Purity: Why Professionals Choose Lardinois

Triumph tulips are traditionally valued for their classic goblet shape and sturdy stems. Within this group, Lardinois holds a distinct position due to its impeccable, crisp whiteness. Unlike many white varieties that tend to develop creamy or greenish undertones over time, Lardinois retains a pure, brilliant white hue until the very end of its blooming cycle.

Agronomic Resistance as a Key Priority

The standout feature of Lardinois is its genetic resistance to fungal diseases, which are often the “Achilles' heel” for most bulbous plants. The variety demonstrates high tolerance against:

• Alternaria leaf blight, often common in high-humidity environments.
• Verticillium wilt, ensuring a healthy root system even when grown in the same soil for extended periods.
• Sclerotinia and Phoma rot, which is critical for producing high-quality, market-ready bulbs.

These traits make Lardinois an optimal choice for farmers aiming to minimize fungicide usage during the active growing season.

Growing Dynamics and Versatility

Its mid-season blooming period allows for strategic planning during the peak spring market. The medium stem height makes the variety versatile: it is equally suitable for professional cut flower production and landscape design, where resistance to lodging from wind or rain is essential. It is worth noting, however, that to reach its full potential, the variety requires strict adherence to temperature protocols during bulb storage before planting.

Who is this variety for? It is ideal for those specializing in forcing or industrial cut flower production. Lardinois is forgiving of minor agronomic mistakes, yet under professional care, it delivers a superior yield of premium-grade blooms.
