Tulip Gander Special

Stability and Predictability in Cultivation

When working with the 'Gander Special' variety, the focus shifts to the reliability of the stock. The mid-season blooming period allows for precise logistics planning, avoiding the rushes typical of early or late-season varieties.

Phytosanitary Control and Maintenance

The main challenge in tulip cultivation is fungal infection, which can destroy the crop's marketability in a matter of days. With 'Gander Special,' site maintenance is simplified due to its high natural resistance to Fusarium wilt and Alternaria blight. In high-humidity conditions where other varieties require emergency fungicide applications, this hybrid remains resilient, directly reducing expenditure on crop protection products and minimizing yield loss risks.

Appearance and Commercial Value

The tall stem and deep lilac color of the petals make this tulip highly sought after for cut flower production. From an agronomic perspective, it is important to note that Triumph tulips handle transportation well, provided temperature protocols are followed. The firmness of the bud ensures the flowers maintain their aesthetic appeal long after harvesting. This is a case where the aesthetic qualities of the variety perfectly complement its operational durability.
