Tulip Miss Holland

Technical Profile and Morphology

The 'Miss Holland' tulip belongs to the Triumph class, which acts as an engineering solution in modern breeding. The hybridization of Darwin hybrid tulips and single early tulips has resulted in a plant with a robust root system and a tall, sturdy stem that maintains vertical rigidity even under rapid growth cycles.

Biological Resistance

A key advantage of this cultivar is its genetic resistance to phytopathogens. Under production conditions, 'Miss Holland' demonstrates high tolerance to Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum) and powdery mildew. This resistance is achieved through the dense cuticle of the leaves and the specific composition of cell sap, which significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications in both greenhouse and open-field cultivation.

Agrotechnical Specifications

• Flowering type: Mid-season, allowing for the mitigation of peak labor demands during harvest.
• Flower morphology: The deep red color is driven by a high concentration of anthocyanins, ensuring pigment stability even under direct ultraviolet exposure.
• Habitus: The high flower stalk provides the commercial stem length required for the construction of professional floral bouquets.

The practical application of this cultivar is optimal for forcing, as 'Miss Holland' adapts well to varying light regimes while maintaining consistent goblet size and color intensity.
