Strengths and Weaknesses

'Dushisty Malyar' boasts high winter hardiness, a trait expected from a variety originating in the Far Eastern climate. The plant is remarkably low-maintenance, maintaining a stable form throughout the entire vegetation cycle. However, the variety requires careful site selection: while it dislikes waterlogging, it thrives in fertile, well-draining soil. The modest flower size (3–4 cm) might appear understated compared to large-flowered Dutch hybrids, yet this trait allows the inflorescence to retain freshness longer and resist wind damage, preventing the stems from drooping under their own weight.

Who is this variety for?

This phlox is ideal for landscape designers working on 'natural garden' concepts and gardeners who prioritize long-lived perennial displays that do not require annual replanting. With a flowering window of up to six weeks, it fits seamlessly into continuous-bloom border plans where avoiding mid-summer gaps is essential.
