Phlox PROSITEL

Practical Application of Phlox 'Prositel'

Unlike purely decorative varieties, Phlox 'Prositel', developed by the Botanical Garden-Institute of the FEB RAS, is specifically utilized for soil conditioning and restoring land productivity. Its role in modern agronomy is focused on mechanical and biological improvement of depleted or compacted soil structures.

Agronomic Scenarios

• Biological Soil Conditioning: The variety features a robust root system that naturally decompresses soil horizons, significantly enhancing aeration and moisture infiltration without intensive mechanical tillage.
• Erosion Control: The dense sod formed by this cultivar acts as a protective layer, preventing the loss of topsoil on sloped surfaces or areas prone to wind erosion.
• Organic Matter Enrichment: Due to its rapid vegetative growth, 'Prositel' serves as an excellent source of biomass, which, when integrated into the soil, boosts microbial activity and improves long-term fertility.

Developed by Natalia Pavlyuk, this cultivar is a preferred choice for farms prioritizing sustainable land management. By integrating 'Prositel' into a crop rotation or as a cover crop, producers can effectively address soil degradation issues, making it an essential tool for those transitioning to regenerative agricultural practices.
