Description OMSKAYA
Triticale is a grain crop that is a hybrid of soft wheat and rye, combining the high ecological plasticity of winter rye with the yield and quality of wheat. Winter triticale is characterized by a longer vegetation period, high frost resistance, and the ability to better utilize spring moisture and nutrient reserves. Sowing is carried out in the autumn, with a vernalization period of up to 60 days, while tillering occurs both in the autumn and in the spring. To form a powerful root system and accumulate sugars, phosphorus-potassium fertilizers are required, while nitrogen nutrition should be moderate at the beginning of the vegetation period and increased in the spring to increase yield. Triticale seeds of the 'Omskaya' variety belong to high-yielding winter varieties adapted to various soil and climatic conditions. They possess high winter hardiness, disease resistance, lodging resistance, and drought tolerance, which ensures stable yield. Seeds are used as raw material for the production of flour, bakery products, confectionery products, and compound feeds, making the crop universal and in demand in agriculture. The sowing rate for winter triticale ranges from 120 to 200 kg/ha depending on the variety and growing conditions. To achieve high yields, which can reach 63-97 c/ha, it is recommended to carry out several nitrogen top-dressings during the vegetation period: the first one at the beginning of the resumption of spring vegetation, the second at the phase of stem extension, and, if necessary, the third at the flag leaf stage. Foliar feeding with microelements, especially copper and manganese, is also effective. When using high doses of nitrogen fertilizers, retardants should be applied to reduce the risk of lodging. Winter triticale ripens slightly later than winter wheat, which allows for better use of spring resources and improves crop quality.
