Winter Triticale «Aztek»: Stability and Forage Potential

In the segment of winter grain crops, triticale is often overlooked, yet the «Aztek» variety from the «Franz» brand is challenging this perception. Developed by the breeders at the Federal Rostov Agrarian Research Center, this variety is engineered for high yields in demanding climate zones, where the ability to survive winter and restart rapid vegetation is the key to profitability.

Key Advantages

• High Winter Hardiness: «Aztek» is adapted to significant temperature fluctuations, minimizing the risk of crop thinning after harsh winters.
• Lodging Resistance: A strong, resilient stem allows the crop to remain upright even during heavy rainfall during the ripening period.
• Forage Quality: The variety demonstrates superior grain nutritional indices, making it an essential component in livestock rations, particularly for poultry and pig farming.

What distinguishes «Aztek» from its peers is the balance between the originator's genetic potential and its responsiveness to intensive farming practices. In conditions where wheat might struggle with disease pressure or soil acidity, «Aztek» consistently delivers reliable results.

Who Should Choose This Variety?

This variety is an excellent fit for agricultural enterprises focused on internal feed production. A stable harvest from «Aztek» allows for long-term planning of feed stocks. However, agronomists should note that despite its adaptability, the variety requires careful control of seeding rates due to its active tillering capacity. Over-seeding can lead to excessive crop density, which may negatively affect grain size and yield quality.

«Aztek» is a choice for farmers who prioritize a pragmatic approach, backed by solid scientific breeding and proven endurance metrics.
