Tomato Rugantino

Rugantino F1 is a Beef-type hybrid developed by Rijk Zwaan from the Netherlands. This variety features large ribbed fruits weighing 170–190 grams, with a unique flavor and aroma, harmoniously balanced between sweetness and acidity. A distinctive feature of ripening is the slow red coloration of the fruit, where tomatoes ripen from the inside out: when the outside is still green, the inside is already red and fully flavorful, with a slight pink hue developing at the base. This characteristic allows for fruits with rich flavor and attractive appearance. Rugantino F1 plants are strong and moderately open, with short internodes, promoting good ventilation and reducing disease risk. The hybrid demonstrates high fruit set even under hot conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones. It is recommended to grow this tomato in glass and plastic greenhouses with extended cropping cycles to fully realize its potential and achieve a stable early-maturing yield. Additionally, Rugantino F1 exhibits high resistance to major tomato diseases, including Tobacco Mosaic Virus (ToMV), Fusarium Wilt (Ff), Foliar Blight (Fol), Root Rot (For), Verticillium Wilt (Va), and others. Thanks to these qualities and adaptability to various climatic conditions, this variety is an excellent choice for both professional and hobbyist cultivation, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest with outstanding flavor.
