Marsalato

Marsalato F1 tomato is an early determinate hybrid of large-fruited tomato of the Marmande type, developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. The plant is tall, vigorous, and branched with abundant foliage, ensuring good fruit set. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under greenhouse conditions, with seedling transplanting recommended at a density of no more than 2.5 plants per square meter. The ripening period is approximately 70-100 days from mass seedling emergence or transplanting.

The fruits of the Marsalato tomato have a bright red color, a flat-round shape with pronounced ribs and green shoulders, characteristic of the Marmande type. The average fruit weight ranges from 150 to 200 grams, sometimes reaching up to 250 grams. The flesh is uniform, juicy, and tender, with a pleasant slightly acidic-sweet flavor and a delicate aroma. It is recommended to harvest fruits with slightly green shoulders, which helps maintain excellent storability and reveals an exceptional tangy flavor.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major diseases affecting solanaceous crops, including tobacco mosaic virus (ToMV), tomato leaf curl virus (ToANV), Fusarium wilt (Ff), Verticillium wilt (Va, Vd), Phytophthora blight (Fol), and Phytophthora (For). Due to its excellent taste and versatility, Marsalato tomatoes are widely used for fresh salads, culinary dishes, and are suitable for processing into juices and preservation for winter storage.
