Juanita

The Juanita tomato is an early-maturing indeterminate variety with red cherry-type fruits. The plant is medium to tall, robust, with dark green foliage and moderate vegetative activity. Fruits are round, weighing 10–30 grams, with a juicy, firm texture and very sweet, refreshing flavor. Ripening occurs synchronously in clusters (up to twenty fruits per cluster) and throughout the entire plant, ensuring high yield with minimal plant pruning.

The Juanita variety exhibits high resistance to diseases, including Tobacco Mosaic Virus (ToMV) and Fusarium Wilt (Fol), as well as low susceptibility to blossom end rot and fruit drop. These traits make it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including regions with hot summers. Due to its adaptability and vigorous growth, this tomato responds well to different agronomic practices and is suitable for both open-field and protected cultivation.

Fruits of the Juanita variety are widely used in culinary applications thanks to their vibrant color and excellent texture. They are ideal for fresh salads, soups, and other dishes, and also store well. Originating from Norway, the variety was developed by the German company Bayer AG. Each package typically contains 5 seeds, enabling high-quality yields with minimal effort.
