Tomato Roterno F1 is an indeterminate determinate hybrid intended for cultivation in glasshouses on mineral wool. The plant features an open generative type with good growth vigor and a balanced elongated form with vertical leaves, facilitating easy harvesting of clusters. This hybrid is suitable for extended cropping and light culture, ensuring high early and overall yield.
The fruits of tomato Roterno are round and intensely red, weighing between 80 to 100 grams, with a cluster weight reaching about 500 grams. The fruits have a juicy, crisp texture, high lycopene content, and excellent taste qualities, making them ideal for slicing into thin slices. On the Brix scale, sugar content is approximately 5.7, confirming their sweet and rich flavor.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus (ToMV:0-2), Fusarium wilt (Ff:A-E), Verticillium wilt (Fol:0,1), root fusarium wilt (For), nematodes (Va:0, Vd:0), and powdery mildew (Si). It also shows intermediate resistance to tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), nematodes (On), as well as diseases caused by pathogens Ma, Mi, and Mj. The hybrid is registered in the State Register of Selection Achievements, approved for use in the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation.
