ORANGE ELEPHANT

The Orange Elephant tomato is a medium-ripening variety with a maturation period of 110 to 120 days from germination to fruiting. The plant is determinate, with limited growth, reaching a height of 70 to 100 cm when grown in plastic greenhouses and in open ground in southern regions. The fruits of this variety are large, flat-round or heart-shaped with a tapered tip, bright orange in color with a pink blush, weighing 200 to 300 g, sometimes up to 500 g. The flesh is dense, oily, aromatic, with a pleasant sweet and juicy flavor, rich in carotene.

Tomato bushes can reach a height of 170-200 cm, with medium-strength, slightly drooping leaves. Each cluster forms 2-3 fruits, ensuring an average yield. Thanks to its original shape and bright coloration, the fruits of the Orange Elephant variety are not only delicious but also aesthetically appealing, making them an excellent choice for fresh summer salads, juices, and tomato sauces. The variety is characterized by prolonged fruiting, allowing for a prolonged harvest.

For successful cultivation, seedlings should be sown in late March to early April, with transplanting in the vegetative stage of the first true leaf. Transplanting into the ground should be done at the end of May to early June with mandatory support on stakes and regular feeding. Harvesting fruits at the breaker stage followed by ripening increases yield. When combined with other varieties such as Siberian Giant and Raspberry Elephant, this tomato enables the creation of bright and tasty vegetable salads.
