Tomato Medovik

Technical potential of the "Medovik" tomato by SDK-SEEDS

The "Medovik" tomato is a result of selective breeding by the SDK-SEEDS team, focused on high-yield production with superior commercial characteristics. The hybrid's foundation lies in its genetic plasticity, allowing the culture to adapt to various growing environments while maintaining stable yields of up to 100-130 tons per hectare.

Morphological features and fruit development

The key advantage of this variety is its flexibility in cultivation systems: the plant exhibits both determinate and indeterminate growth patterns depending on the agrotechnical approach. This enables the grower to regulate plant height and cluster count. The flat-round fruit shape, combined with a weight exceeding 200 grams, makes "Medovik" highly competitive in the fresh produce market.

• Vegetation period: Technical maturity is achieved within 100-120 days, which is optimal for mid-latitudes.
• Color spectrum: The variety's genetic marker allows for both orange and pink hues, enhancing market appeal.
• Logistics resource: The dense skin and flesh structure provide excellent transportability, minimizing losses during long-distance delivery.

The engineering approach to SDK-SEEDS seed material selection has achieved a balance between intensive growth and stress resistance. High productivity (100-130 t/ha) requires high-quality mineral nutrition, particularly during the fruit-filling stage, as the large size of the tomatoes implies an increased uptake of soil elements.
