Porumbeni 199 SV is an early hybrid of sweet corn, characterized by a period from germination to technical maturity of cobs of about 77-82 days. Plants reach a height of 1.55 to 2 meters, have 10-13 leaves and 10 above-ground nodes. Cobs of cylindro-conical or weakly conical shape with a length of 18-20 cm are located at a height of 60-80 cm. The grains are yellow in color, tooth-like and wrinkled in shape, with a 1000-grain mass of about 212 g, characterized by a sweet consistency and high taste qualities both fresh and canned. The mass of a conditioned cob varies from 120 to 173 g, and the yield is 0.3–0.7 kg per square meter.

The Porumbeni 199 SV hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to main corn diseases, such as smut and dusty smut, fusarium, stem rots and helminthosporiosis, and also shows resistance to pests, including the corn borer. The plant is drought-resistant and resistant to aging, which makes it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The grain yield at cob threshing reaches 85-90%, which indicates the high productivity of the hybrid.
