KRASNODAR SUGAR HYBRID 280 SV

KRASNODAR SUGAR HYBRID 280 SV is a mid-early sugar corn hybrid developed by breeders of the National Grain Center named after P.P. Lukyanenko. The period from sowing to technical maturity of the cobs is 72–74 days, which allows harvesting at optimal times. Plants reach a height of 165–210 cm, depending on growing conditions, with 14–16 leaves and cobs 18–22 cm long containing 12–16 rows of grains. The cobs have a weak conical shape, tender orange skin, and a mass of 210–240 g, ensuring high product quality. The mass of 1000 grains is about 240 g.

The hybrid is distinguished by high yield and resistance to adverse factors. The average yield of conditioned cobs under dry farming conditions reaches 138–160 centners per hectare, and with irrigation can increase to 190–200 centners. The crop is resistant to lodging, bunt, and stem rots, which contributes to the stable production of high-quality harvest. The height of cob setting varies from 50 to 80 cm, which facilitates harvesting.

KRASNODAR SUGAR HYBRID 280 SV is recommended for use both as fresh boiled and in canning industry. High content of saccharides — about 18.4 mg % of dry grain mass — provides a pleasant sweet taste and excellent taste qualities for boiled and canned products. This hybrid is a universal solution for producers focused on obtaining high-quality sugar corn with good yield and disease resistance.
