Medunka

Sweet corn Medunka F1 is a medium-early hybrid with a maturation period of about 75 days from mass emergence to harvest. The plant is medium-height, reaching 185-200 cm, forming two cylindrical ears 17-19 cm long and 4.0-4.5 cm in diameter, positioned at a height of 55-65 cm. The kernels are white, medium-sized, arranged in 14-16 rows. The average ear weight is 150-170 g, and the yield reaches 90-125 kg per hundred square meters in bags. Corn Medunka is characterized by high yield and rapid maturation, making it attractive for cultivation in various regions.

The main feature of this variety is its exceptional sweetness: sugar content in the kernels at technical maturity exceeds 25%, making Medunka one of the sweetest corn hybrids. Due to its delicate flavor and juicy kernels, the ears are ideal for fresh consumption, boiling, salad preparation, canning, and deep freezing for winter use. Additionally, the variety is drought- and heat-tolerant and has high resistance to lodging, eliminating the need for hilling during cultivation.

Medunka F1 demonstrates good resistance to diseases such as common rust and downy mildew, and is also less susceptible to damage by corn borers. The crop requires warmth and does not tolerate frost, so seeds are recommended to be sown in warmed soil at the end of April to the first half of May, at a depth of 5-6 cm, with row spacing of 45-60 cm and plant spacing within rows of 25-30 cm. To obtain a continuous harvest of tasty ears, seeds can be sown every two weeks, and dry or germinated seeds can be used, as well as seedlings.
