Merkur F1

Merkur F1 is a mid-season sweet corn hybrid with a vegetative period of 75 to 81 days after emergence. Plants are strong and stress-tolerant, reaching heights of 200 to 220 cm, with 10-13 leaves and an ear insertion height of approximately 70-75 cm. Ears are weakly conical, 18 to 21 cm long, with 15-18 rows of large, evenly sized, golden-yellow kernels with a tender husk. The conditioned ear weight is approximately 280 grams. Kernels retain their color after thermal processing, making this hybrid particularly attractive for canned and boiled products with excellent taste qualities. The hybrid has high sugar content — 8 to 20%, medium starch level, and dry matter content of 24-26%. Merkur F1 tolerates both cold and hot climates, as well as mechanical harvesting, significantly simplifying agronomic operations. The recommended plant population is 55-65 thousand per hectare, promoting optimal growth and yield. Merkur F1 is resistant to major sweet corn diseases, including vascular wilt, leaf anthracnose, rust, and leaf helminthosporium. Thanks to these qualities and its versatility, the hybrid is suitable for both fresh market and processing, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
