Description

Sweet corn variety "Bylyna" is an early-maturing, medium-height variety developed in Siberian and Altai breeding. Plants reach a height of 150-170 cm with large cobs up to 30 cm long and weighing about 200-203 grams at milky-waxy maturity. The grains are yellow-orange in color, of medium size, with a tender skin and high sugar content up to 2.2%, ensuring excellent taste qualities for both cooked and canned products. Additionally, the variety is rich in Vitamin C (8-9.2 mg/%), making it a nutritious and beneficial product.

Growing corn "Bylyna" is possible via seedlings or direct sowing when the soil warms up to 10-12°C. It is recommended to soak the seeds for a day before sowing to improve germination. Sowing is done in rows with a distance of 60 cm between furrows, and after the appearance of 3-4 leaves, the seedlings are thinned, leaving two plants per hole at a distance of 40 cm. For optimal growth and development, plants require loosening, watering, fertilizing with mineral fertilizers, and removing suckers from the lower leaves. Before the formation of tassels, hilling is carried out, which promotes better cob formation.

The variety "Bylyna" is characterized by its unpretentiousness and good adaptation to growing conditions. The best predecessors for it are melon crops, tomatoes, peppers, and potatoes. The harvest is collected at the end of August – September. To improve germination and fruit setting, the use of growth and development stimulants is recommended. Corn is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for canning, freezing, and drying, making it a universal and in-demand product.
