PORUMBEN 339 MV

Porumben 339 MV is a mid-season hybrid of sweet corn, bred by the Maize and Sorghum Research Institute of the Republic of Moldova. The plant is characterized by a height of 162 to 270 cm and has 14–15 leaves. The cobs are cylinder-cone shaped, 18–20 cm long, with yellow wrinkled grain. The vegetative period is 110–115 days, which allows the hybrid to be successfully grown in various climatic conditions.

The hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to diseases, pests, drought, and lodging, ensuring stable yields. The yield of conditioned cobs is 0.6–0.8 kg per square meter, and the grain recovery after threshing reaches 85–90%. Porumben 339 MV responds well to fertilizers and irrigation, which contributes to increased productivity.
