Sunflower VD 541 RF

Implementing the "Clean Field" Strategy

The primary value of the VD 541 RF hybrid lies in its ability to provide total weed control in intensive farming operations. Thanks to its genetic resistance to imidazoline herbicides (the "Euro-Lighting" or Clearfield system), this sunflower hybrid allows farmers to combat perennial weeds, such as thistle and ragweed, effectively after crop emergence.

When to Choose VD 541 RF

• Fields with High Weed Pressure: This hybrid is essential for fields where traditional soil-applied herbicides fail to perform due to moisture deficiency.
• Broomrape Management: Using the herbicide technology provides an added layer of protection against various races of broomrape, which is critical for high-risk regions.
• Moisture Conservation: The Clearfield system minimizes the need for inter-row cultivation, helping to retain vital soil moisture—a decisive factor during drought-prone seasons.

Agronomic Insights

Developed by the V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops in partnership with international breeding centers, this hybrid is built for consistent performance. It demonstrates reliable behavior across various soil and climatic conditions. When sowing, it is essential to follow the herbicide application protocols closely; strictly adhering to the recommended dosages ensures that the plants reach their full yield potential without suffering from chemical stress.

This sunflower is the go-to choice for farms focused on risk mitigation. It acts not just as seed, but as a management tool that ensures clean fields while reducing the need for labor-intensive manual weeding or excessive tractor passes.
