ES Belfis KLP — a mid-early sunflower hybrid selection by Euralis, intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polissia, steppe, and forest-steppe regions. This moderately intensive hybrid is characterized by high adaptability and stable yield under diverse conditions, making it a profitable choice for farmers seeking high-quality raw material for oil production. The period from emergence to flowering lasts approximately 68–70 days, and the full vegetation cycle is 104–110 days, ensuring timely harvest maturity.
The ES Belfis KLP hybrid features a strong root system and sturdy stem, contributing to resistance against lodging and adverse weather conditions, including drought. Plant height reaches 160–175 cm, and the flower head diameter is 22–24 cm with a slight downward tilt. The seeds contain high oil content — from 48 to 52% — confirming their value for the oilseed industry. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates high tolerance to Clearfield® Plus herbicide technology, facilitating weed control and improving the efficiency of agronomic practices.
Special attention has been paid to the resistance of ES Belfis KLP to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, white mold of heads and stems, frogepsis, black mold, verticillium, alternaria, as well as pests and parasites. Genetic resistance to the aphid — Myzus persicae — ensures reliable crop protection. Recommended planting rates vary depending on soil moisture levels: 55–60 thousand plants per hectare under low moisture conditions and 60–65 thousand under adequate moisture. All these characteristics make ES Belfis KLP a high-yield and reliable hybrid for modern agricultural enterprises.
