VK 1 IMI is a new early-maturing sunflower variety of the oil type, distinguished by uniform flowering and ripening. The seeds of this variety exhibit high seed-setting even under unfavorable weather conditions, ensuring crop stability. The variety was bred by selection of the most early-maturing biotypes and is characterized by uniformity in plant height, flowering time, and ripening. High yield is achieved both in main sowings and in repeated (post-harvest and post-mowing) sowings, where yield can reach up to 2.5 tons per hectare. Additionally, VK 1 IMI possesses resistance to diseases such as downy mildew, Phoma, Fusarium, and dry rot, which significantly reduces the risk of crop loss.
A feature of this variety is its resistance to herbicides from the imidazoline group, which allows for the application of the EuroLighting technology. This technology involves the use of the Euro-Lightning herbicide, containing active substances imazapir and imazamox, which effectively combat a wide range of weeds, including striga. Thanks to VK 1 IMI's resistance to these herbicides, minimum and zero tillage systems can be applied, reducing production costs and increasing cultivation eco-friendliness.
VK 1 IMI is characterized by a plant height of about 170 cm and a head diameter of about 35 cm. The oil content of the variety reaches 51%, making it attractive for oil production. The variety is noted for stress tolerance and crop stability, which is especially important under variable climate conditions. This hybrid is produced in Ukraine and is a promising choice for modern agrarians seeking high efficiency and stability in sunflower production.
