Sunflower Subeo is a mid-ripening hybrid developed by Syngenta, characterized by high yield and stability under various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including forest-steppe and northern steppe regions. This hybrid belongs to the intensive cultivation type and fully realizes its potential when all requirements of intensive technology are met, including proper sowing dates and spacing of 200–400 meters from linoleum sunflower crops. Subeo is adapted for use with herbicides Granstar and Express, ensuring effective weed control and contributing to high productivity. One of the key advantages of the Subeo hybrid is its high resistance to 7 strains of sunflower downy mildew, including the most common and some new forms of the parasite. Additionally, it possesses genetic resistance to false powdery mildew, phomopsis, sclerotinia, and phomopsis, significantly reducing the risk of crop losses due to diseases. The hybrid also demonstrates high drought tolerance and stable yields under various weather conditions, making it a reliable choice for farmers. The oleic acid content in Subeo seeds reaches 50–52%, placing it in the class of high-oleic sunflowers and ensuring high-quality oil. The hybrid's yield varies between 27.9–45.5 c/ha at 7% moisture, confirming its high productivity. Thanks to its mid-ripening maturity, Subeo can be sown both at optimal and later dates, providing flexibility in agronomic practices and enabling adaptation to different growing conditions.
