Sula

Sula is a high-oleic HTS hybrid sunflower of moderate intensity type with medium maturity and plant height from 175 to 185 cm. It is characterized by high genetic resistance to false powdery mildew, resistance to A-G races of downy mildew, as well as tolerance to major sunflower diseases such as phomopsis and sclerotinia. The hybrid also exhibits resistance to lodging, which contributes to stable yields and reduced losses during cultivation.

Sula is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones, as well as in the Polesie region, with a seeding rate of 40 to 60 thousand plants per hectare depending on soil moisture level. The cultivation technology for this hybrid belongs to HTS (Express), which provides optimal conditions for plant development and high-quality yield. The seeds contain 50-52% oil with high oleic acid content — up to 86% — making the oil particularly valuable for the food industry.

The Sula sunflower has a strong root system and well-developed stem, which promotes good pollenization of the flower head and efficient use of soil resources. Cultivation of this crop requires crop rotation with intervals of at least five years to prevent soil exhaustion. Due to its qualities and adaptability, the Sula hybrid is a promising choice for farmers seeking high-quality and stable sunflower yields.
