SM 64 A

SM 64 A — a high-yielding hybrid sunflower of linoleic type, intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine. This medium-early hybrid has a vegetation period of 100 to 115 days, ensuring timely maturity and high productivity. Plants of medium height with convex heads, which contribute to resistance against lodging and facilitate harvest. Yield potential reaches 55 centners per hectare, and oil content in seeds varies from 48 to 51%, making this hybrid attractive for the oil industry. One of the key features of SM 64 A is high tolerance to common diseases and pests. The hybrid exhibits resistance to seven races of downy mildew (A-G), as well as protection against phomopsis, false powdery mildew, sclerotinia, rust, and verticillium. High drought resistance and adaptability to various soil types allow successful cultivation under water deficit conditions, confirmed by drought resistance ratings of 9 out of 10. Moreover, the hybrid demonstrates good immune protection and stability under various climatic conditions. To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to follow optimal planting density: 55-60 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered areas, and 50-55 thousand plants per hectare under water deficit. SM 64 A is suitable for intensive and moderately intensive cultivation, ensuring high profitability and stable yields. Thanks to the combination of high oil content, disease resistance, and adaptability to climatic conditions, this hybrid is a reliable choice for modern farmers.
