Sunflower Slavyanin

Stability and oil content from NAAS breeders

The «Slavyanin» sunflower is the result of long-term breeding work by the Institute of Oilseed Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. Designed for intensive farming conditions, this variety has established a solid position in the segment of classic oilseeds focused on a consistently high oil yield. Unlike highly specialized hybrids, «Slavyanin» combines proven adaptability with resistance to climate stress typical of the forest-steppe and steppe zones.

Agronomic profile and protection

The plant height ranges from 150–160 cm, making the crop convenient for mechanized harvesting without excessive biomass loss. A key feature of this model is its genetic resistance to the most harmful pathogens that threaten yields during the growing season:

• Phomopsis;
• Alternaria;
• Verticillium wilt;
• Rust.

These characteristics allow farmers to reduce their fungicide load, optimizing costs per hectare. The oil content in the seeds consistently reaches 50–55%, making the variety economically attractive to processing companies looking for high-quality raw materials.

Market positioning

«Slavyanin» is favored by farms that value predictable results. Its reputation is built on the reliability of domestic breeding seed material, which is well-adapted to the soil conditions of Ukraine. It is the choice for those seeking a balance between seed investment and high oil content in the commercial harvest.
