Sunflower Scerboss

Technological potential of the Skerboss hybrid

French selection by Caussade Semences focuses on adaptability within the Clearfield segment. Skerboss is positioned as a solution for fields with high infection pressure and challenging weed conditions. Integration with the Euro-Lightning system allows for precise control of a wide spectrum of grass and broadleaf weeds without compromising the plant's metabolic processes.

Phytopathological protection

The genetic architecture of this hybrid is built around comprehensive resistance to key pathogens. In conditions of high humidity and thermal fluctuations, Skerboss effectively resists phoma and rot, which are frequent causes of lodging and loss of head market weight. High resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis) is critical for regions with frequent precipitation in the first half of the vegetation period, preventing early crop failure.

Morphological features and productivity

Skerboss belongs to mid-season hybrids with a vegetation period of 110–120 days. With a stem height of 120–130 cm, the culture demonstrates excellent lodging resistance, which is vital for mechanized harvesting. The compact habitus allows for optimizing the plant density per hectare, preventing excessive competition for light and moisture. An oil content of 50–55% makes this hybrid a high-margin asset for farms focused on quality raw materials with high fat yield during processing.
