Sumiko

The Sumiko (Sumiko) sunflower hybrid is a medium-early, high-yielding European selection hybrid recommended for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine. The maturation period is 110-115 days, allowing effective use in various agroclimatic conditions. Seeds are treated with the fungicide and insecticide Cruiser, providing protection against pests and diseases in early development stages. The recommended plant density at harvest is 45-55 thousand per hectare, promoting optimal yield and product quality.

One of the key advantages of the Sumiko hybrid is its high resistance to diseases such as fusarium, phomopsis, and false powdery mildew, as well as to five strains of downy mildew. Additionally, the variety demonstrates excellent tolerance to drought, temperature fluctuations, and herbicides, making it a reliable choice for farmers facing adverse weather conditions and weeds. The hybrid effectively competes with weeds and previous crop residues, simplifying agronomic practices and enhancing yield stability.

Oil content in the seeds reaches 53-55%, significantly higher than the average for sunflower, with a yield potential of up to 5 tons per hectare. High oil content and stable yields make Sumiko attractive for oilseed production. The hybrid shows good adaptation to the agrofond and rapid growth after the initial development stage, reaching average plant size. The ability to sow seeds at low temperatures extends the sowing window and increases flexibility in agronomic practices.
