Rigasol

Rigasol is an early-maturing classic sunflower hybrid developed by Syngenta (Netherlands). The maturation period is 100–108 days, allowing for a stable and high yield within a short timeframe. The hybrid is characterized by high plasticity and adaptability, ensuring successful cultivation in all soil-climate zones of Ukraine, including regions at risk of Phomopsis. Rigasol demonstrates rapid early growth and an optimal plant density of 45,000–50,000 plants per hectare, which contributes to maximum productivity under proper agronomic conditions. Plants have an average lower height, a wide basket positioned semi-vertically, facilitating harvesting. The hybrid exhibits high disease resistance, including tolerance to Phomopsis and sclerotinia, as well as to Sclerotinia (wolf) races A–E. Additionally, Rigasol shows good drought tolerance, cold resistance, and resistance to lodging and shattering, making it a reliable choice for various growing conditions. It is important to note that the hybrid is not recommended for excessive nitrogen fertilizer application or overly dense planting to avoid the risk of lodging. Oil content in Rigasol seeds ranges from 48% to 53%, making it attractive for oil production. The hybrid performs best under balanced mineral nutrition, optimal irrigation, and early planting dates. Thanks to its technicality and stable yield, Rigasol is a profitable choice for both wholesale and retail planting materials, ensuring reliability and efficiency in sunflower production.
