Description Marasca
Marasca is a high-yielding sunflower variety adapted to the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine. It belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetation period of about 108 days. The variety is distinguished by high oil content in the seeds, reaching 49-50%, making it attractive for oil production. The yield potential is up to 55 centners per hectare at the recommended planting density of 50-55 thousand plants per hectare.

One of the key features of Marasca is its high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, rust, fomopsis, white mold, and downy mildew. The variety has a 9-point resistance rating to these diseases, ensuring stable yields even under changing climate and natural zones in Ukraine. Herbicide technology based on Granstar (Express, Sumo) effectively controls broadleaf weeds, contributing to improved quality and quantity of the harvest.

Marasca was registered in 2009 and recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. Although the variety has been discontinued from production, it remains an example of a high-oil and stress-resistant sunflower capable of ensuring a stable and high yield with proper agronomic practices.
